The city boasts numerous of cafés, restaurants and pubs and has a lovely theatre. It has also has been called the UK's 'Flower Capital', due to it being awarded the 'Britain in Bloom' title 10 times.


What to do in Aberdeen


The principal tourist attraction in the city is Fun Beach, the beach which stretches the length of the promenade. Main events here are the Fun Fair, a multiplex movie theatre, Linx Ice Arena, Beach Leisure Centre and the nearby Aberdeen Football Club. The area also hosts many cafés, eateries, pubs and a nightclub. Another star attraction is the Winter Gardens at Duthie Park. The city also boasts several excellent galleries and museums, while Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre is the spot where concerts and main events take place.

The city has long been renowned for its brilliant parks, astonishing gardens and flower displays, with up to 16 million flowers including roses, daffodils and crocuses greeting tourists in the spring and summer months. Year round there is a wide programme of arts, performances and entertainment. Six shopping malls and numerous speciality outlets make shopping in Aberdeen very enjoyable.
